A unique opportunity to work with an internationally-renowned chorus master, Edward Caswell, on the art of bel-canto singing. ‘Bel canto’ simply means beautiful singing and refers to the Italian school of singing which began to develop in around 1600. The Competition is open to young musicians up to and including the age of 18 who live, are at school or who have private music lessons within a 15-mile radius of the city of Ripon Ripon Young Musicians of the Year aims to encourage local young musicians up to and including age 18 and to give them an opportunity to perform and for their talent to be recognised.
