“We believe in inclusive church – a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate.
We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of
disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality.
We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ;
which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation;
and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”
Children are welcome at all of our services; playmats, toys, books and activity sheets are available at every service.
Children who attend regularly are encouraged to have roles within the services and are invited to receive Holy Communion.
Children over the age of seven may attend church unaccompanied by prior arrangement.
Services of the Word are particularly suitable for children.
Types of Service
We have a variety of services which change according to the focus or the seasons of the Church’s year.
Holy Communion on Sunday – This service includes hymns, Bible readings and an address. We bring our thanksgivings and concerns to God in prayer. We then share bread and wine as Jesus commanded us to do. (80 minutes)
Service of the Word – This service focuses on learning about God, ourselves and each other. It is usually in a cafe church style, where we sit around tables and worship in a relaxed style.
It includes hymns and songs, worship activities, and prayers (60 minutes)
Service of Wholeness and Healing -The focus of this service is receiving from God. We bring our needs before him, seeking his healing and his love. Prayers are offered for those who are ill or experiencing difficulties.
Prayers can be offered for ourselves or for others. Those who wish to may be anointed with oil as a sign of God’s healing. In this service, we are not seeking miracles but the healing presence of God in our lives.
The service also includes Holy Communion (sharing the bread and wine). (80 minutes)
Project Grow Services – In these services our focus is on the Kingdom of God and being God’s people in the world. The teaching focuses on how we can “seek God’s Kingdom” and co-operate with God’s intentions for the world.
The service includes Holy Communion. (80 minutes). Sometimes these services are followed by a time of extended teaching and lunch.
Holy Communion on Tuesday – A shorter service than Holy Communion on Sunday with an address but no hymns. (30 minutes)
